**UPDATE - About 60 members, family and friends attended the Marauders Club Dinner on Sunday, 7/18/21.  There was plenty of good food & the desserts were wonderful as usual.  Thanks to members for bringing the desserts and to the American Legion for doing such a great job on the dinner.  There were raffles, door prizes & lots of fun & fellowship.  It was great to be able to get together again.  
**Beth Oliphant received the Ken Cummings Club Appreciation Award for being an outstanding club member.  She has stepped up & volunteered for several activities.  Congrats Beth - we appreciate your willingness to help the club.

~The JULY meeting was held Thursday 7/15/21 at 6:30PM at the Mulvane American Legion.
~It was great to have 30 members, officers and guests present for the July meeting. 
~Thanks to the American Legion for a great dinner prior to the meeting.  It was very much appreciated. 
~New members John & Susie Cortese were introduced to the club.  Welcome to the club - we look forward to getting to them and other new members.  Over the last few months we have had new members join the Marauders.   Please take a minute to say hello to these new folks when they attend a meeting, introduce yourself and let them know we are glad to have them and that they have chosen to join our club.   I know we all get busy at a meeting. as we are glad to see our 'old' friends - but please take a moment, look around & welcome new folks that might be in attendance. 
~Steve Nichols gave the treasurer's report.  All is well and we continue to receive dues and expenses are taken care of.
Our accounts are looking good even after making sizable donations to our charities.
PLEASE BE REMINDED - DUES ARE NOW DUE!!!  DROP DEAD DATE TO PAY WILL BE THE OLD SETTLERS ROD RUN ON 8/7/21. IF YOU HAVE PAID, YOUR CHECK IS IN THE MAIL OR YOU HAVE MADE ARRANGEMENTS, NO ACTION IS NECESSARY.  IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID YOUR CURRENT DUES, TAKE A MINUTE AND SEND A CHECK - PAYABLE TO MULVANE MARAUDERS, P. O. BOX 151, MULVANE KS 67110.  IF YOU DO NOT PLAN TO RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP, PLEASE LET STEVE KNOW SO WE CAN REMOVE YOUR NAME FROM THE CURRENT ROSTER AND WEBSITE. 
~Kevin announced that because of our donation to the Kansas Honor Flight, we would once again have a Golf Team in the KHF Golf Tournament on October 4, 2021 at Sand Creek Station in Newton, KS.   As of this date, I think our team of "4" is complete based on previous announcement at the July meeting.   We could use a couple of "alternates" in case something happens prior to the tournament.  If you would be willing to be on the alternate list, please contact Cheryl.  The 2019 team had a fun time and the tournament raises funds to send WWII, Korean and Vietnam Veterans to Washington DC to visit their war memorials.  
~At the June meeting member Jim Thomas reminded the club that the Vietnam Traveling Wall will be in Valley Center October 21 - 25, 2021.  They are in need of many volunteers for this event.  Great way to donate some time and honor Vietnam Veterans.  Many Marauders are Veterans and several are Veterans of Vietnam.   There is a website for this event and the volunteer description is listed along with information on how to volunteer.  It would be great to see the Mulvane Marauders volunteer for this very special event.  Another opportunity for the Marauders to support another great cause.
~Please remember the concerns of the club and those experiencing health issues and those who have recently lost loved ones. The Marauders Club is a "family" and we want to ensure we reach out to those in need whatever the reason.  Please let Cheryl know if you know of a member that needs a card for any reason. 

~Kevin reminded members about upcoming events.  The Old Settlers Rod Run will be celebrating 40 years in August.  Please support this great show and member Chris Middendorf who has done this show from the very beginning.  It will be Saturday, August 21, 2021 at St Michael's Catholic Church.  Early registration is discounted, so get an entry form and send it in to Chris.  If you have questions, please let us know as we continue to support this great event.
*Kevin also announced the car show at the Kansas Speedway for the Hollywood 400 to be held October 24, 2021.  Info is on the website.  If you are interested you can contact Clay, Marketing Director.
*WFO Show in Augusta is 8/7/21 and the Sunday cruises in Mulvane are the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month.  

~Be sure to check the Club Website, the Cruisin Calendar or the KEYN online Cruisin Calendar for upcoming shows and activities. If you would like to be a ROAD CAPTAIN for any event, just let us know where & when you are leaving and we will let club members know so everyone can cruise together.

~We have club shirts for $10.  If you need a shirt, please contact Steve Nichols or come to the next meeting.  If you would like to have a club shirt in a specific color or need a jacket or sweatshirt, contact Kevin Cardwell at Shirts Plus. 
~We have new black and white summer hats - let Steve Nichols know if you need a shirt or hat.

 
NEW BUSINESS
*IT IS NEVER TO EARLY TO BE THINKING ABOUT THE NEXT SHOWDOWN IN THE VALLEY CAR SHOW AT THE KANSAS STAR CASINO.  Consider how you can help & be ready to volunteer!   We need every member to make this great show even greater!!!!  NOW IS THE TIME TO BE CHECKING WITH POSSIBLE SPONSORS - WE NEED SPONSORS FOR 2022 - PLEASE BE THINKING ABOUT FRIENDS, FAMILY OR ANYONE YOU KNOW INCLUDING BUSINESSES - THAT MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN GETTING INVOLVED WITH THE SHOW AS A SPONSOR AT ANY LEVEL.  WE WOULD BE THRILLED TO HAVE NEW BUSINESSES JOIN US AS WELL.  If you need information on sponsorship - contact us for details.

*DUES ARE NOW DUE AS OF JUNE 1!!  If you have already paid your dues, Thank You - if you have not paid your current dues, please do so in the next few weeks.  Dues are still $25.00 per year.  Make check payable to Mulvane Marauders and mail it to Mulvane Marauders, Steve Nichols, P O Box 151, Mulvane, KS 67110.   If you have questions regarding your dues or a payment, please contact Steve.  If you aren't sure you have paid, please check the website and ensure you have a 'green check mark" by your name.  If you have a "red X" we have not received your dues for 2021/2022!

*During the Mulvane Old Settlers event, the Mulvane Marauders will once again have a booth - "Old Geezers Advice".
The few Marauders that will be at the booth on Friday and Saturday will have advice on any subject - remember, it's FREE but not necessarily "good" advice.  It's always fun and raises additional funds for Kansas Honor Flight.

*MEMBERS - UPDATE WEBSITE -- HAVE YOU UPDATED YOUR INFORMATION AND/OR PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE RECENTLY???  SINCE YOU HAVE A BIT OF EXTRA TIME AS OF THIS WRITING - PLEASE Take a few minutes, log in & update your profile.  It's easy - just logon webpage, go to the bottom right corner, put in your email address and password.  If you don't remember your password just send Steve Nichols an email and he will send you a new one so you can complete this update.  If you have a problem updating or adding a photo of your car, contact Steve for assistance.  Kasey - our webmaster - has made some new improvements that will allow members to add or edit pictures of their cars on the website.  If you are still having issues, please contact Steve and he can walk you through the process. 
*ALSO - if you have an ad on the webpage and it is no longer valid, PLEASE delete it.  If you can't do that, let us know and we will delete it for you.

   THROUGH 2021.    "MULVANE MARAUDERS SUPPORTING GREAT CAUSES".
 
~Please continue to check the website club events section for upcoming events & club activities.  If you need an event posted, please contact Cheryl or Steve.   The website calendar has been udated with all the events that we are aware of so far.  If you know of additional events, please let us know and we will be glad to list them for you.
~If there is something you would like to see in the newsletter or have ideas for outings and/or events - please let us hear from you!  If you are interested in being the Road Captain for a show or event, please let us know & we will post it.

CLUB BREAKFAST WILL HOPEFULLY RESUME IN THE FALL.  WATCH THE NEWSLETTER FOR UPDATES!
*THE MONTHLY BREAKFASTS ARE THE FIRST SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH - 8:30AM to 10:00AM AT THE MULVANE AMERICAN LEGION!  IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN  PARTICIPATING WITH A GARAGE CRAWL AFTER THE BREAKFAST, LET US KNOW SO WE CAN GET IT SCHEDULED FOR ONE OF THE FUTURE BREAKFASTS.

*Please keep member Larry Taylor in your thoughts and prayers as he recovers from a recent hospital stay and surgery. 
*Also - remember member Ed Johnson as he deals with some recent health issues.

"ON THE LIGHT SIDE smiley
*Two crows are flying along when an F/A 18E/F Super Hornet suddenly screams past, barely missing them.
"Wow!" one crow exclaims.  "He was moving!"
"You would be too," the other crow quips, "if you had two backsides and both were on fire!"

*I thought the dryer was shrinking my clothes.  Turns out it was the refrigerator!  (Sound familiar?????)

*A husband & wife were at a party chatting with some friends when the subject of marital counseling came up.  "Oh, we'll never need that.  My husband & I have a great relationship," the wife explained.  "He was a communications major in college, and I majored in theater arts.  He communicates really well and I just act as if I'm listening!"

*I'm on a 30 day diet, so far I've lost 10 days!

*I've reached the age where my train of thought often leaves the station without me! ("Maxine")
