“SMOKE AND GAS”
FROM THE
MULVANE MARAUDERS
MARCH/APRIL/MAY - 2020

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY/HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY/HAPPY & BLESSED EASTER AND HAPPY MAY DAY!
~The MARCH meeting was NOT held Thursday 3/19/20 and the APRIL meeting was not held Thursday 4/16/20 at 6:30PM at the Mulvane American Legion due to the "STAY AT HOME ORDER & THE COVID19".
NO CLUB EVENTS OR MEETINGS WILL BE HELD UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE AND A DETERMINATION IS MADE THAT WE CAN GATHER.  AS OF THIS DATE AND EVEN AS THE STATE/COUNTY LIFT THE ORDER AT MIDNIGHT ON SUNDAY, MAY 3, 2020 - WE STILL WON'T BE ABLE TO GATHER AS A GROUP.
*WE LOOK FORWARD TO THE TIME WHEN WE CAN ALL GET TOGETHER AGAIN & RESUME SOME SORT OF NORMAL LIFE - AT THIS POINT NO ONE KNOWS FOR SURE WHEN THAT WILL BE OR WHAT THAT WILL LOOK LIKE.
FOR NOW THE BEST THING WE CAN DO FOR ONE ANOTHER, OTHERS-INCLUDING OUR FAMILIES AND OURSELVES IS TO BE DILIGENT AND CAUTIOUS.  IT IS BETTER TO ERROR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION THAN THE ALTERNATIVE!!

~I hope this newsletter finds you well and safe.  These are indeed difficult days for all of us and it appears it may continue for a little longer or as long as it takes to complete the (3) phases set forth by the state and/or the counties.  We recognize that this is an unprecedented time in history.  The current situation has impacted each of us differently, and there are still many unknowns and questions yet to be answered.
~I wanted to reach out to all of you and let you know I/we are thinking of you, miss you and love you!

~There are things we can do to stay in touch and keep our lines of communication going throughout all of this uncertainty.  Just like at my church and most of the American Legion posts are doing with their "buddy system", we too can continue to reach out to other members of the club with a phone call, email or text - just to check in with our fellow members & friends.  At this time we all have a lot of time on our hands so if you are tired of cleaning the garage, basement, house, working in the yard, watching TV or a myriad of other things - take a moment to reach out to your fellow Marauders and let them know you are thinking of them and ensure they are doing okay.

~Please remember that in all we do the safety of each person and family is our number one goal and as a club we will continue to lean toward that end as we decide in the coming weeks when we will be able to gather, if it is safe to do so and always know that each member will need to make that determination for themselves.  And we certainly will respect and honor those decisions.
~As we continue to move forward and regain some sort of "normal" - whatever that might be - let us celebrate each & every day and the opportunities offered to reach out and call a friend, a member of your church, your neighbors, family members or even a long-lost school friend.
~Let us celebrate the quiet moments of life where we can be still and know we are not alone.
~Let us celebrate this day the gift of loved ones and the memories we have of family gatherings and other past celebrations.  And let us look forward to our next family gathering, church gathering and our Marauders Club meetings.

~Many club members have enjoyed the Mulvane Cruises each Saturday night.   Thank you to those who have sent out notices that they were taking place.  It's good to see our friends even if it's from our car.

~Thank you to Steve Nichols for all the announcements and updates.  As you all know - Showdown was canceled and postponed from April 25 to Saturday, September 12, 2020.   Since these are such uncertain times and no one really knows what each day, week and month might bring - we will keep you posted as we move forward with that date.

~Hopefully we will never forget how much we missed our normal way of life when it returns - and - never take it all for granted.  Life is fragile as we have experienced during this time with the loss of two of our members and the illness of others.
As a Club we will continue to share and enjoy our hobby in addition to connecting with our communities and providing hope for those in need.  Thank you for all you have done for our club and for our community.
You are a great club - - Stay safe - Wash your hands - Social Distance - and know that at some point in time, this too will pass and we will deal with whatever the 'new' normal and tomorrow might be.

~Club breakfasts are over for now - they will resume in the Fall after car show season.  Watch for details at that time.

~Please remember the concerns of the club and those experiencing health issues and those who have recently lost loved ones. The Marauders Club is a "family" and we want to ensure we reach out to those in need whatever the reason.  Please let Cheryl know if you know of a member that needs a card for any reason.

~Be sure to check the Club Website, the Cruisin Calendar or the KEYN online Cruisin Calendar for upcoming shows and activities. If you would like to be a ROAD CAPTAIN for any event, just let us know where & when you are leaving and we will let club members know so everyone can cruise together.

*A doctor addressing a large audience on the subject of nutrition & longevity told his listeneners, "The material we put into our stomachs is enough to have killed most of us sitting here years ago.  Red meat is awful.  Soft drinks corrode your stomach lining.  Chinese food is loaded with MSG.  High fat diets can be disastrous.  But there is one thing that is most dangerous of all, and we all have eaten it or will eat it.
Would anyone care to guess what food causes the most grief & suffering for years after eating it?"
An elderly man at the back raised his hand.  "Wedding cake?"  (Haha - just a funny cuz we all love our spouses!)

*Why is the person that invests your money called a Broker?????"

*A boy was at the barber for the first time, and the barber asked him how he wanted his hair cut.
"Just like Daddy's," he replied.  "And be sure to leave the little round hole on the top where his head comes through."

*Develope enough courage that you can stand up for yourself...then stand up for someone else.  (Maya Angelou)

*I thought air was free.  Then I bought a bag of potato chips!!

*If God is your Co-Pilot - swap seats!!

*If we could spread Love as quickly as we spread hate & negativity, What an amazing world we would live in.  (Unknown)

*Thought for the day - Peace and Love start with a smile!

*In a world where you can be anything - Be Kind!!

*BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER & PRACTICE RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS!!

*IF YOU HAVE A “CAR JOKE” (or any joke) OR A THOUGHT OF THE DAY YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH THE CLUB, PLEASE SEND IT TO CHERYL!   **Remember, it has to be ‘printable’!!!
