“SMOKE AND GAS”
FROM THE
MULVANE MARAUDERS
DECEMBER - 2018

WISHING YOU & YOURS A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY & HEALTHY NEW YEAR!!!
~The December meeting was held Thursday 12/20/18 and called to order at 6:30PM by President Kevin Cardwell at the Mulvane American Legion.  Thanks to Diana's team for the dinner prior to the meeting.  The hot roast beef sandwiches were great!  We appreciate all their hard work to make our meetings extra special with a meal so we can visit & fellowship with one another.
~About 35 officers, members & guests attended the meeting.  It was nice to have Ron Cummings' guest Tim Riffel join us at the meeting - please welcome Tim and his wife Bobbie of Derby to the club as he joined after the meeting.  We also extend a big Marauder welcome to new members Dale & Chris Heckman and Justin & Andrea Cummins.
~Thanks for supporting the meetings - it's always great to see so many attend and participate.
~No additions or corrections from the November minutes.
~Steve Nichols gave the treasurer's report including bills paid & deposits.  Our balance is good - only outstanding bill is for the (2) City Park rock signs.  After all the disbursements - all is well!!  Future disbursements include payment of the two (2) signs for parks in Mulvane.  Payment for the Showdown in the Valley ad for the 2019 Cruizin Calendar was made in the amount of $450.
~Steve announced that only a couple of members have not picked up their calendars.  If you have not picked up your calendar order you can do so by making arrangements with Steve Nichols ASAP.   If you can't remember if you ordered calendars, contact Steve and he can update you on the order list and/or if you have paid.   We have about 15 calendars left if you need additional copies.  Calendars are $5.00 each.  Once again, this was a great project and will provide additional funds for us to be able to help other charities.  Thanks to all who participated with us.  It was discussed that perhaps next year we make 2 calendars since so many have show an interest in being a sponsor.  Members were asked to think about sponsors for the calendar project and we will revisit this possibility at the March 2019 meeting.
~Members were reminded of upcoming events and car shows - be sure to check the club website, the Cruisin Calendar or the KEYN online Cruisin Calendar for upcoming shows and activities.  If you would like to be a ROAD CAPTAIN for any event, just let us know where & when you are leaving and we will let club members know so everyone can cruise together.  Car Show season is complete for this season - be watching for the new Cruisin' Calendar 2019 at the Cars for Charity Show and other businesses where they will be available.
ALWAYS CHECK OUT THE "REVVIN' IT UP" SECTION OF THE NEWSLETTER FOR UPDATES!!
*Cars for Charities Show in January 18, 19 & 20, 2019
*As of this date, we have 20 entries -  thanks to those who have entered the show - we will have a great time as always.
The show is always looking for volunteers - if you are not entered and would like to help out, please contact Cars for Charity and they will find a job for you.  The club received a nice thank you from Tom Devlin for the Marauders recent donation of $500.
*If you are in the show and do not have a Marauders sign to display by your car, please contact Cheryl.  IF you had one from last year, please bring it to the show and display it with your car.   The signs are 8 1/2 X 11 - so get a frame that will fit that size.
*If you have entered the show - please ensure you have given your shirt size to Cheryl so we can get our shirts printed.  Every member who has entered a car will receive a shirt and we ask that you wear them on Saturday of the show.  We will also be taking a group picture that day.  We will keep you posted on the time and location!
~Kevin announced that Bumper to Bumper will be a Corporate sponsor once again this year for Showdown in the Valley.  Everyone was asked to try and get additional sponsors for the show.  We will be having planning meetings for the next Showdown after the first of the year.  A huge THANK YOU to Bumper to Bumper for their continued support and sponorship of our show.

~We have new club shirts for $10 and Showdown in the Valley event shirts are available - limited sizes.  If you need a shirt, please contact Steve Nichols or come to the next meeting.  If you would like to have a club shirt in a specific color or need a jacket or sweatshirt, contact Kevin Cardwell at Shirts Plus.

*The office Christmas Party is a great opportunity to catch up with people you haven't seen in 20 minutes.

*Why is Christmas just like your job???
You do all the work & the fat guy with the suit gets all the credit!!

*4 Stages of Life -
1 - You believe in Santa Claus
2 - You don't believe in Santa Claus
3 - You dress like Santa Claus
4 - You are Santa Claus

*What do you call an elf who sings????
Ready for this.......     A "Wrapper"

*Why do Dasher & Dancer love coffee????
Because they're Santa's "Star Bucks!!!"

This is all fun but...............
Remember Christmas isn't about how big the tree is or what's under it and how much you spent!
It's about who is around it !!

*Thought for the day - Doing one good thing might not change the world, but it might change the world for one person.
