Army buddy and I bought a '46-48 Ford 2dr sedan off a Junction City car lot. It was on the main road going into town. It had the old floor shift. I think the trans had been changed. Don't think Ford had the floor shift in '46. We hotrodded around Fort Riley ourunning the MP's one time. After a few months my orders came down for Ft Benning jump school. Sold my interest in Ford to partner (Garnet Price). I then left to go Airborne. It was a fun time, the old Ford Flathead, the Go Go Girls in Junction City, Army life etc. I still have my picture album of shots I took around Ft Riley, the car etc. Today, naturally I'm into Hot-Rod nostalgia. '50's-'60's, era drags,rock n roll, James Dean, Elvis, always looking for vintage car parts and speed Equipment. Some cars in my collection here in Calif are: '51&'46 Merc, '50&'55 Olds, '54 Dodge wagon&2dr sedan, '68 Rambler Rebel, '63 Impala, '50,'52,'54 chev, 2 Morris Minors, 2 '70 Honda 600's, '63 Corvair Van, and a '78 Pinto panel wagon V6 (for sale) Mother born on a farm in So. Dakota. Kansas weather is wild. You guys have a cool club cool cars. |
