Marauders Meeting
Chaotic Customs
Thursday
12-15-11 – 7PM

Meeting called to order at 7P by Chris

About 38 members & officers present. One guest was introduced by Steve Swain – his son Justin Swain.

Discussed the following business:

Club Breakfast – will be the second Sat of January – 1/14/12 – at Country Breakfast Café in Haysville. Those that attended the breakfast in December said everything went well and food was good. Always open to other and/or new ideas for our breakfast.

New Year’s Day Pot Luck/Party – Seemed to be little or no interest this year when brought up to the members. Decided we will NOT have this annual event for 2012 – in lieu of that event Chris suggested we do Calendar Shoot/Picnic in April or May. He is working on getting two photographers – while we are waiting to do pictures we can eat and visit.

The Chill in Park City will be February 24-26, 2012 – Chris ask if we would like to go in as a club – there seemed to be interest in doing that as there are several members that attended last year and are going in 2012. Will decide if we want to use the Starbird theme display at that show or just go in as a club. Like Starbird – if you are going please let Cheryl know so she can get with The Chill organizers and get room for the club.

It’s never too early to be discussing the Marauders Showdown in the Valley #14. Will be Saturday, 6/9/12. Need to get our flyer together so we can distribute at Starbird and the upcoming February Swap Meet at the Coliseum pavilions & The Chill. Need to advertise earlier and these will be great venues to do so. Also – something to bring folks in – rebuilt motor for give away! Suggested we give everyone a ticket for the motor raffle as they enter and then entrants can purchase more tickets along with spectators. Must be present to win – and do that drawing LAST on show day after awards. Gerald Keck is willing to help and do the machine work – see if Auto Zone and any other businesses would donate parts. All members should be thinking about this and seeking out any help we can get on this. We have a Chevy S/B.

Max Ayers gave a treasurer’s report. Christmas donations were made to Kansas Food Bank - $500 and the F.R.O.G. Diner/Mulvane United Methodist Church - $500. Balance of $ 1427.58. Still collecting for calendars. Afew are spoken for and not picked up and/or paid yet and the few remaining will be sold at Starbird in Kevin Cardwell’s booth for Shirts Plus. If you still want one for Christmas or afterwards, please contact Chris or Karma Carlson.

Max also had various items for purchase or give away. We have license tags available for $20 – if interested in this item please contact Max Ayers. Some Showdown 13 shirts are left as well. These are great shirts – get them while you can. Max also has all other club gear if you need shirts or hats. For specific apparel items contact Kevin Cardwell direct at Shirts Plus in Derby.

Final item of discussion – Starbird-Devlin Show 2012. If you plan on entering a car, need to do so ASAP. Deadline for pre-registration of $30 is January 4, 2012 – after that date it will be $40. Need to know how many Marauders are participating so we can advise the Show how many spaces we need for our members. IF you are entering, please contact Cheryl Boyes ASAP at 685-6590. She is keeping a list that will be sent to show organizers. Some of the Marauders New School kids will be participating too. We will keep everyone informed on entry times as we receive all that information. Please sign up to volunteer at this show. It is a charity show and they need volunteers – there are many shift opportunities for every day of the show. If you want to volunteer, please contact member Carl Fry or Cheryl Boyes. Our Vegas theme is coming together and should be fun.

With no further business, meeting adjourned at 7:30P.

Remainder of meeting was used working on props for the show. Ray Straw is working on the poker chips. If anyone knows someone that would be willing to let us use a slot machine for our display – please let us know. Trying to get used decks of cards from the new Mulvane Casino. Max Ayers has designed our Vegas sign with donated plywood will be painted during the meeting. Chris got boxes for dice and they will be painted as well. If you have ideas for other props, let the club officers know. This should be a great display. If you have time to work on any of these things, please contact Chris or Max.
